When we last saw our hero
Major Tom was floating in his tin can
Lost in space, lost to Earth
He has since left his capsule
And is floating silently in space
High above the world
The beautiful blue planet
Reflected in his face mask
As the power in his suit slowly fails.
Major Tom's brain gradually cools down
Synapsis fire randomly
And all the places he's been
And all the people he's known
Become jumbled and mixed
Splintering like a prism
Scattering like stars in the night
And Major Tom remembers.
